Wicking and cupping
Wicking and cupping
Production technology of grave and tealight candles respectively in a plastic or aluminum cup with the use of granulated paraffin. The machine inserting a wick to glass and plastic containers.
Wicking and cupping line
Technological line of the machines cooperating with each other includes:
- hydraulic press;
- vacuum conveyor;
- conveyor belt;
- wicking and cupping machine;
- plate conveyor with a cam positioning the product vertically;
- cups sorting machine;
- optional: wick soaking machine, labelling machine, packing machine.
The wicking and cupping machine takes a wick from the spool - previously prepared by the wick soaking device - clenches a small plate to it and trims it to a required size. The wick is placed in an opening of the paraffin mould - produced by a hydraulic press supplied with the raw material by a vacuum conveyor – inserted in the next step into the cup, previously properly set by the cups sorting machine. The finished product is transported - through the positioning cam - in a vertical position to the plate conveyor, which buffers the products and provides them into the labelling machine and then to the packaging machine.
Wicking and cupping machine
Individual machine to be connected to the already owned hydraulic press. The machine operates almost each size of a mould and a cup. The machine tooling is replaceable, enabling the production of products of various dimensions. The efficiency is smoothly controlled via a frequency converter. The machine also may produce only wicks or moulds with a wick, omitting the inserting function into a cup. Optional equipment includes a hot-melt copolymer adhesive system used to glue the plate with a wick to the bottom of the container.
Wick inserting machine
Similar to a wicking and cupping machine, it uses a previously prepared wick, trims it to the size, kneads a plate on it and inserts it into a glass or plastic container with a droplet of hot-melt copolymer adhesive. The machine is mainly used in dosing lines for the production of grave candles without a paraffin mould, grave candles from foamed and homogenised paraffin and in the production of vascular candles, e.g. glass.
Cups sorting machine
The machine is used for positioning plastic or aluminium containers, which are taken by a scraper conveyor from the charging hopper. The machine uses a set of air nozzles, a rotating wheel with appropriate cuts, as well as photoelectric and inductive sensors. The machine is featured by high versatility, efficiency and simplicity of service.
Soaking the wick
The device is used to coat a wick with paraffin mass. It is equipped with two rotating drums on which a coated wick with paraffin mass is rolled. The string is taken from the spool and repeatedly passed through a tray with molten mass and appropriate nozzles calibrated to a desired diameter. The process takes place automatically. An optional equipment is a rev-counter with the function of switching off the machine after reaching a certain set point.
